Descisions

There are a lot of questions coming at us right now.

How should we proceed with our businesses?
What's the best way to care for our family?
What do we really believe about all things COVID19?
How do we go about birthing this new world we're creating?
Where do we go from here?
How will we get back to normal?
How do we make sure we never go back to the way things were?
How do we make most of this pause (for those who are able to pause)?

Having answers to the questions and decisions that we're grappling with can feel urgent, and it's true some windows open and then close.

There is undeniable power in making decisions. The resolve and clarity that comes with a decision made gives us a feeling of control, a little taste of certainty. A direction and place to put our energy.

Making decisions can call back our (seemingly displaced) power and give us a feeling of satisfaction.

It matters less what you decide than it does that you decide (for this purpose). This is one of the reasons goals are so enticing and helpful.

Also...

There is incredible power in not deciding. Not goal setting. In simply being with what is. In leaning into the mystery. In expanding our capacity to tolerate the uncertainty and ambiguity of the human experience and of this unusual chapter we are in.

Sometimes not deciding, and limiting action is in fact the wisest thing we can do.

Waiting, holding, pausing, surrendering, can be bold and courageous. Accepting that we don’t know and aren’t ready (yet) can be an act of love.

Deciding can be so powerful. Waiting can be so powerful.

These are both true.

No matter what all the clever memes want to tell us, more often than not there are two (or more) truths. Trust yourself to know which is right for you and yours.

Trust yourself to reach out for guidance as you travel your journey and navigate your choices.

Get support when you need it (we always need it).

This is wisdom.

Take your time.

Your time.

This is your time.
